Jess has worked more than 20 years caring for paediatric patients primarily at the RCH, Melbourne. She also spent time working overseas in Iraq, Sri Lanka, London, and interstate in the Northern Territory. Throughout her career she has undertaken many roles, including education in PICU, Trauma Nurse Consultant, and as a Paediatric Retrieval Nurse. She was also a Primary School Teacher for a few years! Jess joined the RCH Burns Team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in December 2022. She has a long history caring for burns patients on the surgical ward, in the Emergency Department as part of the Trauma Team, and more extensively in the Paediatric ICU at RCH. Jess is highly dedicated to working with families and children with burns and supporting them through their often-difficult journeys. She would love for all children to receive the best treatment available irrespective of socio-economic or distance boundaries and relishes the opportunity to provide education to help achieve this important goal.
