Dr. Michelle Dodds
MBBS (Hons 1)
BASc Buchanan Prize Winner for the 2017.1A ACEM Fellowship Examinations Senior Registrar in Emergency Medicine |
Dr. Michelle Dodds grew up and studied in South East Queensland. After graduating medical school, she completed her junior medical training years at Toowoomba Hospital. Keen to return to Brisbane to be closer to family, she has finalised her Emergency Medicine training at The Prince Charles Hospital. She was successful in passing the ACEM Fellowship Examination in 2017, and was awarded the Buchanan Prize for the best candidate in this exam.
During her training she has developed a passion for Paediatric Emergency Medicine, spending a large amount of her training time caring for children. Her other special interest lies in medical education and resource development. She has completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education, whilst working as a Medical Education registrar. She is heavily involved in teaching medical students through to fellowship candidates, both with in-hospital education programs. Michelle and her husband have recently welcomed their first child, a beautiful little girl. This has been a difficult adjustment for their fur-child, a rather spoiled miniature dachshund. As a result Michelle now spends all her free time with either a puppy or a baby (or frequently both) on her lap. |
