Lisa is a General Paediatrician and passionate medical educator.
She has experience in caring for infants and children with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. Her particular interests include the intersection of allergy, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, nutrition and feeding difficulties, crying babies, chronic abdominal pain and constipation. Lisa has been involved in medical education throughout the continuum. She is a co-author of MediRed's GAMSAT Study Manuals which assist students who are studying to sit the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test. As a senior lecturer for the University of Queensland she pioneered the concept of the “flipped” classroom within the School of Medicine, developing POLIE - the core learning modules for paediatrics with online and face to face delivery components across local and international rotation sites. She is interested in innovative teaching and technology with a focus on clinical reasoning. She enjoys supervision and mentoring of all trainees. She is the secretary for the Paediatric Society of Queensland, delivering the annual Paediatric Scientific and Educational Annual Conference for General Paediatricians throughout Queensland. In the other half of her life she is raising a family of three beautiful children and trying to squeeze in time to enjoy running, yoga, cooking, bush walking and teaching herself to play the piano. |
