Clinical Nurse and educator
Gold Coast University Hospital |
Clare has been an Emergency Nurse at the Gold Coast Hospital for 10 years, in this time she has been a Clinical Nurse, Clinical Facilitator and Acting Paediatric Nurse Educator. Whilst Clare loves all aspects of emergency care and medical education, she accidently became a “paeds” person after a spending time in the Children’s Critical Care Unit.
Through her position as Medical Tutor at Bond University, her passion for joint medical and nursing education and simulation training has grown, and she sometimes uses this space to stretch her theatrical wings. After a close personal experience with sepsis, Clare became a ‘Sepsis advocate’ helping design and successfully pilot the roll out the Sepsis Pathway at GCUH. She continues to educate and support current research in the sepsis field and is excited to see what future sepsis screening and treatment options will include. Outside the medical sphere of influence Clare enjoys Yoga and sailing on her yacht ‘Sprout’ |
