The Paramedic Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PARA PEM) Course is an innovative and interactive three-day program designed to advance the knowledge, confidence, and clinical skills of paramedics caring for acutely unwell children and neonates.

Developed in response to the growing demand for high-quality paediatric emergency education tailored specifically for paramedics, the PARA PEM Course combines the comprehensive two-day Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Course with an additional paramedic-focused day that explores the practical skills, logistics, and clinical approaches most relevant to pre-hospital paediatric emergency care.

During the first two days, participants join the PEM Course alongside their medical and nursing colleagues, exploring the latest evidence-based approaches to common paediatric emergency presentations through case discussions, clinical vignettes, guideline reviews, and a wide range of real-world learning materials, including X-rays, ultrasound, CT imaging, clinical photographs, and video cases.

The third day is dedicated exclusively to PARA PEM participants and has been developed in response to feedback from paramedics seeking education tailored to their unique clinical environment. Delivered by experienced educators with expertise in paediatric emergency care and pre-hospital practice, this dedicated program focuses on practical skills, clinical decision-making, and techniques that support confident paediatric emergency care in the field. The third day may be attended as a standalone course or as part of the full three-day PARA PEM Course
